Resilience · Remembrance · Transmission

Our story
The story of Poppies and Daffodils began long before its creation.
It is rooted in a family history marked by war, absence, silence, and invisible wounds passed down from generation to generation.
Through the figures of my great-grandfather who died in combat, my grandfather who was a prisoner of war, and the stories of today’s soldiers facing the traumas of the front line, one truth became clear: remembrance is not a burden from the past : it is a key to understanding the present and rebuilding the future.
All over the world, and more recently in Ukraine, conflicts revive the same pain, the same need for listening, recognition, and healing.
Poppies and Daffodils was born from this conviction.
To keep memory alive, shared, and passed on.
To inspire projects rooted in resilience, education, and peace.
Every action we take builds on this legacy, extends it, and opens it to others: teachers, young people, veterans, first responders, families, and committed citizens.
Together, we turn remembrance into a living and collective act.
- Keeping the memory of war alive, especially the two world wars involving France.
- Organising educational trips and events at memorial sites in France and across Europe.
- Raising awareness of solidarity between peoples, to promote peace and international cooperation.
- Educating about Nazi persecution and the Holocaust through memorial and educational initiatives.
- Collaborating with teachers, educators and military personnel to pass on history and its lessons.
- Welcoming foreign teachers and soldiers to help them discover the history of conflicts on the ground, from a European perspective of shared remembrance.

Supporting wounded soldiers and helping them reintegrate through therapeutic activities.
- Promoting animal-assisted therapies for people suffering from trauma.
Shedding light on the role of animals during wartime, often overlooked.
Our Current Projects
Our projects combine creativity, remembrance and commitment.
They aim to create spaces for expression and memory — for both young and old — to help heal the wounds of the past and nurture the hopes of the present.
Discover the initiatives we are currently carrying out with passion:

Project 1 – “Memory & Resilience” Game
A cooperative game designed for high school students to explore the life journeys of historical figures who overcame adversity.
Through inspiring stories, collective challenges, and resilience strategies, young people develop both historical awareness and personal reflection.

Project 2 – The Motanka Doll
Inspired by an ancestral symbol of protection from Ukraine, the Motanka doll has become, in our hands, a powerful educational tool for inner healing.
Created in workshops by young people or individuals facing vulnerability, it embodies the connection between culture, memory, and repair.
Each handmade doll helps support the organisation Voices of Children, which provides care and support to children affected by the war in Ukraine.
A hand that creates, a heart that heals.

Project 3 – LA CAPE Assistance Dogs
In partnership with the association LA CAPE, we support individuals experiencing post-traumatic stress through the presence of specially trained assistance dogs.
A caring presence,
a companion in resilience,
an invisible yet essential part of the healing process.
